Dear Patron,
Built upon another year of discovery and the support of people like you, 2023 begins with determination to create an even more interesting and beautiful world ….
- My fascination with internally lighting sculpture led my invitation to participate in “Illuminate” (right), a Surprise, Arizona’s Arts HQ show featuring the distinctive work of 3 artists that turned heads and drew media attention. This feels like the beginning of a journey ….
- I continue to play with colorful leaves, a pursuit that began with Autumn Mobius, a kinetic sculpture inspired by falling leaves. In 2022, those leaves literally took flight as mobiles. The first two – one of which, First to Fall (video below), is more than 6 feet wide – sold before they were finished. I’m working on one with snowflakes that will, of course, be a snow mobile …..
- My curiosity about a wide range of techniques and materials intersected last year when I combined forms to create two especially large 3D printed sculptures, then painted them. That enables them to be outdoors – something stymied in the past. These two sculptures, Cleft and Trigon (right), also take advantage of the subtle power of color change paint. Combining forms printed in a new, UV safe translucent filament also allows sculptures like Debutante to be in direct sunlight. I’m excited about where these advancements are heading.
- Some things haven’t changed. I’m still active on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (all @KevinCaronArt ) and continue to publish my email newsletter, MUSeINGS, a great way for you to keep up with news from my upbeat and often offbeat world. Of course, I keep kevincaron.com up-to-date with my latest creations. I hope you join me at any or all of these ways I strive to delight you. It’s great having you along for the ride.
Hoping 2023 brings you and yours more peace, comfort and joy than any of us can now imagine,
