The layers come alive when the water flows over the top and down the face into the basin, which barely holds the fluid before it flows on and on and on and back again.
The water works as liquid light, bringing up the onyx's color, depth and density.
Monolith is shown here with a little friend - the birds love the shallow pool that graces its top.
