FLOWERSHOWER

Phoenix, Arizona

Copper and stone

The fountain provides a sensory garden, with the bubbling sound of the water as it flows out of and down its natural stone "stamens," then down into the stone-filled bowl of the "flower." Its Dr. Seuss-like stalks ("stamens") are intriguing to look at and to touch, with the stones providing different surface textures and shapes.

The three natural stone stamens rise to varied heights, spreading out toward their tops, from which the water bubbles. The stamens' bases come together into a stone-filled, hammered copper bowl, the curled corners of which resemble a flower's petals.

"It's still a wonder to me that Kevin was able to create something that addresses what I was looking for based on a brief conversation. It's tactile, relaxing to listen to, and my sighted friends tell me it's beautiful as well. It makes it that much more special because it was made for me."
