Strike: A Windchime by Kevin Caron

"We have been looking for a number of years for the 'right' lawn ornament, and finally found it in the west.

Our place is in northwest suburban Chicago.... The piece has found a very good home, and it will be seen in acres
of beauty all around."

Like so many of Kevin's pieces, Strike speaks of balance and grace.

If you are wondering why a windchime - which is rung by the capricious wiles of the wind - is named Strike, behold its profile below, which reveals its cobra-inspired form.

Strike's size is impressive, too, reaching 8-1/4 feet into the sky. Still, the stand is light and graceful, while the bell - 5 feet tall itself - constitutes the bulk of the piece's weight. Fortunately, Kevin has built it so that the bell is easily removable, yet swings freely to dance with the lightest breeze.
